Not-a-TV

Installation

Installation

This project was part of the NoHome Show: Architecture in Exile 1998-1999, a travelling exhibition of a caravan of twelve pieces, each a mobile version of a room found in an archetypal home.

Not-A-TV is a mobile family room consisting of four chairs each representing a member of an archetypal American family: Dick(dad), June(mom), Dickie(brother), and Janie(sister). Each chair can exist by itself, join with the others to form a sofa; or (by taking the backs off) the chairs can transform into a table. The table can not exist without all four members present.
